Kabul: Gunmen assault Intercontinental Hotel

At least four gunmen have launched an assault on Kabul's Intercontinental Hotel, Afghan officers say.

Special forces killed  of the attackers, an interior ministry spokesman stated, and had been trying to get to the others.

A visitor at the motel told AFP news organization that people had been hiding of their rooms.

"I do not know if the attackers are inside the motel but I can pay attention gunfire," the guest said.

"I beg the safety forces to rescue us as soon as feasible earlier than they attain and kill us."

The Intercontinental is a nation-owned hotel which often hosts weddings, conferences and political gatherings.

It became attacked via the Taliban in 2011. Twenty-one human beings have been killed along with 9 attackers.

Security has been tightened in Kabul considering that last May, while a massive truck bomb killed at least a hundred and fifty human beings.
